What about Intermittent Fasting?

Intermittent fasting is an eating pattern where you refrain from eating any calories for a certain amount of time each day. There are several different methods of intermittent fasting that involve different fasting intervals. Research has shown numerous health benefits from giving the body a daily rest from digesting and metabolizing food. However, intermittent fasting is not for everyone,, so consult your doctor before trying any method. To learn more, read this.

The low-calorie nature of high-fiber foods means that limiting the number of meals you eat daily can put you at risk for nutrient and calorie deficiencies. Longer fasts are not necessarily better! There is still a lot to learn about the potential benefits and side effects of fasting, so follow a schedule that works for you, meets your nutrient needs, and allows you to enjoy eating.

While Full Plate Living does not promote any particular pattern of intermittent fasting, we do promote a traditional, healthy eating schedule of three 75% plate meals daily. This schedule involves fasting from the end of dinner until breakfast the next day.
